...to artist/writer/naturalist Cathy Johnson's home page. Please feel free to wander around, look at paintings and illustrations in the online portfolio, read excerpts from her books or magazine articles, or take in what a friend calls "personal art" -- handmade, one of a kind jewelry, including hand-painted miniature portraits in the style of the 18th century. You may find exactly what you are looking for here; if not, please email your questions or suggestions for projects you may wish to commission.
Johnson has worked with editors and art directors of a number of national publishers and magazines and creates illustrations in a variety of mediums. She has written 31 books on art, history, and natural history subjects, as well as regular columns for Country Living, The Artist's Magazine, Watercolor Magic and freelance pieces for many others (see Biography.) She owns and operates Graphics/Fine Arts Press, which publishes books of interest to history buffs and interpreters. In that field, she is most often known as Kate Johnson, a name that stuck when she got into the hobby of historical reenacting 15 years ago.
She sells on eBay, with a new I.D. for fine arts -- original drawings, paintings, collages, photomontages and prints -- check cathyjohnsonart.
Her original eBay I.D., katestreasures, is still in use for everything else -- an eclectic mix of her own handmade jewelry, books and antiques is her chosen field, with an occasional foray into collectibles and other offerings.
This site will be updated regularly to feature the latest book, new work, new directions, and new, free Art Tips. It is a work in progress, as organic and changing as creativity itself. Please check back often or sign up now for free email updates.
